Ich hörte Andrea Berg gestern für erste Zeit.
The only other German artist I've been exposed to is Nena. Ich hörte 99 Red Balloons in die englische Sprache vor 14 Jahre erste. The internet made it easy to later find the original Deutsch recording.
It always has been difficult for me to find music I like. When I try to find new music I like, I usually have to listen to viele different Lieder before I find something that grabs me even a little.
Ich hörte "Zum Teufel mit der Einsamkeit" gestern Abend. The I previewed some other songs on "Schwerelos" and decided quickly to download the album.
Ja, Ich verstehe nicht alles der Songtext aber ich lustig sie Musik und Stimme auch.
Does anybody else experience this: When I was younger, I never got into music as much as my friends. In my twenties I learned what songs the Beatles sang, and bought all their albums. Each album, I had to listen to it a minimum of three times before I really liked it.
From what I notice, many people decide the first time they hear a song whether or not they like it. I usually have to hear a song a few times and it "grows" on me.
I was never interested in music classes when I was in school. I never learned how to play an instrument or read sheet music. I believe I never learned how to really appreciate music. I don't know if that comes naturally to most people or not. But regardless, I tried the piano a couple years ago, and found I enjoyed it. I learned how to read piano scores. I'm not an expert by any means. I sometimes practice two or three hours a day.
But anyway, my point is that I'm hoping with continued playing of a musical instrument I will get better at "listening" to music and develop a better appreciation.
I'm curious to hear other opinions or tales of similar experiences. I understand English best, but of course please write in whichever language you prefer. I will do my best to translate. For those who haven't read any of my other posts, I've been learning Deutsch since October of 2013. Mein Deutsch ist noch schlecht.
