Ungesund
Feiner Herr
Aktuelle Macbooks ->

Aktuelle Macbooks ->
- Unangenehmes Tippgefühl durch neue Tastaturtechnologie
- Komplette obere Reihe des Keyboards fehlt, inkl. Esc-Taste.

Very informative, important video by Louis Rossmann, which also reflects my experiences when it comes to reliability and reparability.
https://youtu.be/xFIVZYevfGU
Right at the beginning he names the models that are recommended if you are looking for a reliable Apple laptop in 2019:
Macbook Air 2013-2014
Macbook Pro Retina Late-2013
Macbook Pro Retina Mid-2014
Here are his (and my) reasons why you should avoid other models when working with them.
It may be that these errors do not occur with low usage, but anyone looking for a device to work with should be aware of the following:
Macbooks until 2010 (No Retina, No Pro, No Air)-> no support for current MacOS versions
Macbooks from 2015 (Retina, No Pro, No Air) -> Except surfing and light office tasks not suitable for larger workloads
Macbook Pros 2012 -> Failing GPUs due to breaking solder joints due to board flexing
Macbook Air 2015-2016 -> Faster, but unreliable SSD, had its own exchange program, but not always traceable if this was used when buying a used Macbook Air 2015-2016
Macbook Pro Retina 2015 -> Flat cable to connect keyboard and trackpad must be replaced frequently. In case of damage, neither keyboard nor trackpad will work.
Latest Macbooks ->
In the end, if you are a little technically gifted, you should consider setting up a hackintosh or VM-MacOS laptop. So you have current hardware and the (mMn) best operating system, without big cutbacks.

Latest Macbooks ->
- Unpleasant typing feeling thanks to new keyboard technology
- Complete upper row of keyboard missing, incl. Esc key. Replaced by "touchbar", a haptically dead piece of glass that makes blind operation very difficult.
- Frequent failures of the keyboard, meanwhile with own exchange program where the complete top-assembly is replaced, by the same model, which shows the same failures after a short time.
- T2 chip prevents hardware repairs by third parties, or the user himself.
- Data of the hard disk can no longer be extracted due to fixed installation of the memory chips on the board (and management of those by T2 chip) in case of damage to the computer.
- Ram not exchangeable because SMD.
- SSD not exchangeable because SMD.
- No ports except USB-C and headphones.
- Very bad cooling concept for built-in CPU, fan RPM curves aggressively trimmed to "silent operation" causes hardware to glow, likely to reach around 100° C under load, then throttles the CPU.
In the end, if you are a little technically gifted, you should consider setting up a hackintosh or VM-MacOS laptop. So you have current hardware and the (mMn) best operating system, without big cutbacks.
